Dear Members and Friends

We hope that this Newsletter finds you all well.


As from Friday 1st September 2017 Friday evening services will commence at 18h30.

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur October 2017

The congregation will once again hold services for Rosh Hashanah this year, the first night being Wednesday evening 20th September, Thursday the 21st Friday the 22nd and then Shabbat on the 23rd.  A communal dinner will take place on the first night, 20th September, see details below.

Yom Kippur begins Friday evening 29th September  and concludes at sunset Saturday 30th September.  We will be having a communal breaking of the fast, see details below.

Services will once again be led by Shlomo Kessel from Israel, ably assisted by his son Eitan.


The congregation’s Rosh Hashanah dinner will be held after the service on Wednesday evening 20th September.

The cost will be R300.00 per head for members and R350.00 per head for non members.

Should you be unable to join us for the dinner and only wish to attend the breaking of the fast the cost will be R75.00 per head for members and R100.00 per head for non members

Children under the age of 12 years will not be charged.

Seating for the dinner is limited. For catering purposes please let us know by Thursday 7th September how many will be attending (both dinner and breaking of the fast), as it is not our intention to disappoint anyone.  Also advise us of any special dietary requirements.


Membership subscription for the forthcoming year will be R750.00 per family. Attached to this newsletter is a membership application form.  If you are currently not a member and would like to become a member, please complete the form, scan and e-mail to the address below in order that we may update our records.

This membership fee will cover the period from 1st October 2017 to 30th September 2018 (Jewish Year 5778).
